How Hadd Law Can Help You
Business disputes demand a strategic approach to minimize financial loss and reputational damage. We represent companies and stakeholders in conflicts involving breach of contract, partnership dissolutions, and shareholder issues. Our goal is to protect your commercial interests and secure a favorable resolution so you can focus on running your business.
When your constitutional rights rights are violated by government entities, law enforcement, or other institutions, you have legal recourse. We advocate for victims of discrimination, unlawful search and seizure, and other civil rights violations. Protecting your personal rights often requires challenging powerful organizations, and we are prepared to stand by your side throughout that process.
We also assist clients with a variety of other civil matters, including:
The Civil Litigation Process
Every case begins with the filing of a Summons and Complaint. This document outlines your “causes of action,” such as Breach of Contract or Misrepresentation. Once filed, these documents must be formally served to the defendant, who then has 21 days (or 28 days if served by mail) to respond.
This phase allows both sides to gather evidence to support their case. We use several legal tools, including:
Courts often require parties to attempt mediation or case evaluation before a trial date is set. A panel of three attorneys will review the facts and suggest a settlement amount. If both parties accept the evaluation, the case concludes. If not, the matter proceeds toward trial.
While many civil cases settle out of court, we prepare every file for the possibility of a trial. During proceedings, the plaintiff presents proofs first, followed by the defense. After cross-examinations and closing arguments, a judge or jury will render a verdict.
Civil cases often involve dense paperwork and complex procedural rules. Missing a deadline or failing to respond to a motion can result in a default judgment against you. Hadd Law ensures that every procedural requirement is met while building a substantive strategy for your success.
We understand that litigation is a significant investment of time and resources. Our team works to achieve your objectives in the most cost-effective manner possible, whether through aggressive negotiation or courtroom advocacy.
